Radio Code Fiat Doblò

Family car, work vehicle and everything in between: the Fiat Doblò is a car that gets on with the job without complaint. From 2001 the Doblò rolled off the line as a workhorse for small business owners and as a spacious family carrier for anyone wanting plenty of room for little money. After almost two decades of production, thousands are still on the road. And with every one of them the same thing applies: replace the battery and you have a radio that refuses to work without the correct code.

The Doblò had two generations, each with its own audio landscape:

Doblò I (119/223, 2001-2010)

• Fiat Radio — the absolute basic, AM/FM with minimal functions.
• Fiat Radio CD — a DIN-format CD radio from Delphi. Standard in most trims.

Doblò II (263, 2010-2019)

• Radio Connect — a CD/MP3 radio from Delphi. Standard in base versions.
• Blue&Me — the system with Microsoft Blue&Me software, Bluetooth hands-free and voice recognition. Available as an option or in higher trims.

All models work with a four-digit security code.

The anti-theft protection in the Fiat Doblò radio activates with every power interruption. A battery change, a jump-start where the wrong clamp briefly touched the wrong terminal, or a repair to the electrical system — once power is restored, the display shows "CODE" or "----" and the radio refuses to play music.

The code is tied to the serial number of your radio unit. Doblòs are frequently sold second-hand; with a used example there's a good chance the code card disappeared long ago.

• Vehicle documents — when originally supplied, a small card with the radio code was included. It's sometimes kept in the service booklet or the document folder.
• Glovebox — previous owners sometimes left the card in a compartment or behind the business card holder.
• Blue&Me menu — with the Blue&Me system you can sometimes retrieve the serial number via Settings > System.

The serial number is on a white or silver sticker on the side of the radio unit. It usually starts with a combination of letters and numbers specific to the Delphi production series.

You only need to pull the radio forward five to eight centimetres to read the sticker.

Doblò I

The radio in the Doblò I sits in a standard DIN opening and is secured with two screws behind a plastic trim panel.

Fiat Radio CD and Radio Connect

After two incorrect attempts the radio blocks. The message "LOCKED" or "WAIT" appears.

Solution:

• Mixing up the AS button and MODE — the confirmation button varies by Doblò variant and year.
• Trying three times without the correct code — every two incorrect attempts triggers a lockout. Make sure you have the correct code before you start.
• The code from a second-hand Doblò with a replaced radio — if the radio has been replaced, the previous owner's card no longer matches.
