Radio Code Opel Corsa D

The Opel Corsa D was one of the most popular city cars on the road between 2006 and 2014. After a battery change, the radio will ask for a four-digit code. Opel handles this slightly differently from other manufacturers: you get ten attempts, but after that the lockout is **permanent**.

Why the CD300 IntelliLink does NOT need a code

The Opel Corsa D was available with several different radios from the Opel line-up:

CD30 — The base radio, built by Blaupunkt (later Grundig). A straightforward CD player with a green display, also labelled "Opel CD30" on the unit itself.

CD30 MP3 — The same radio with MP3 support. Identifiable by the "MP3" logo on the front. This is the most common variant in the Corsa D.

CDC40 Opera — The premium option, featuring a built-in six-disc CD changer. Less common, and mainly found in higher trim levels.

CD300 / IntelliLink — Touchscreen systems fitted to later Corsa D models (from 2011 onwards). These systems are VIN-linked and do not use a traditional radio code. If your car has a touchscreen, you do not need to enter a code.

How do you know which radio you have?

The quickest way is to look at the display when you switch on the ignition.

Display shows "10 - - - -" or similar → CD30 or CD30 MP3 (code required)
A touchscreen with the Opel logo appears → CD300/IntelliLink (no code required)

Where can you find the radio code?

Opel called the code card the Car Pass. This credit-card-sized card was handed over at delivery and contains the radio code. Check the following:

BP number or GM number? How to remove the Corsa D radio

The CD30 and CD30 MP3 in the Corsa D are secured with screws behind the dashboard trim panel.

Tools needed:

Plastic trim removal tool (pry tool)
Torx T20 screwdriver

Steps:

Remove the plastic panel surrounding the radio and climate controls. Start at the top and carefully pull it towards you.

Undo the Torx T20 screws at the corners of the radio.

Slide the radio forwards. ### Two serial numbers on the sticker The sticker on the radio shows two numbers: - BP number — Starts with "BP" followed by fourteen digits. This is the Blaupunkt serial number you need to obtain the code. - GM number — Starts with "GM0205" or similar. This is the Opel/GM part number and is not needed for the code. Make a note of the BP number.

AS button, preset buttons 1–4 — how Opel code entry works

The entry procedure on an Opel differs from that on VW and Renault:

Switch on the ignition. The display shows "10 - - - -" (ten remaining attempts).

Hold the AS button until the first dash begins to flash.

Press button 1 to select the first digit. Each press increments the number.

Press buttons 2, 3, and 4 for the remaining digits.

Hold the AS button again to confirm. If the code is correct, the radio will start playing. If the code is wrong, the display counts down: "9 - - - -", then "8 - - - -", and so on.

Permanently blocked — how Opel differs from VW and Renault

This is the key difference from other manufacturers. On Volkswagen and Renault, the lockout is temporary — wait a while and you can try again. On Opel, after ten incorrect attempts the lockout is permanent.
